The Luther-Bagby Collection

April 2, 2014
The Luther-Bagby collection at The Texas Collection contains personal, theological, and missions papers spanning several generations of this missionary family. The earliest papers date from the 1820s, and the latest papers date from the 1990s. Anne Bagby, the daughter of Baylor College president John Hill Luther, began the missionary legacy in this family when she and her husband William Bagby sailed for Brazil in 1881. The Bagbys lay claim to being the first permanent Baptist missionaries in Brazil. Find out more about this collection here: http://bit.ly/18cFgpg
